Tension in SVU in bid to stop MSF meeting

• Mala Mahanadu activists try in vain to prevent Madiga Students Federation meeting
• Krishna Madiga demands immediate categorisation of Scheduled Castes

Tirupati: Tension prevailed for about an hour in the SV University campus when a group of Mala Mahanadu activists led by its president Kalluru Chengaiah tried to march towards University Open-Air Auditorium to prevent the meeting of Madiga Students Federation (MSF) here on Thursday.

However, the alert police stopped Chengaiah and other activists near SVU campus police station, away from the stadium and took them into custody.

High drama was witnessed before the police bundled out the Mala Mahanadu activists as they grappled with the police, raising slogans loudly against MRPS founder Krishna Madiga.

Meanwhile, the MSF activists, led by Krishna Madiga and other leaders including its state president Gangadhar, Telangana state president Govind Naresh came in a procession amidst tight security to the Open-Air Auditorium.
Addressing the MSF meeting, Krishna Madiga called on the Madiga students and youth to take a proactive role in reviving the MRPS movement for realising long-cherished dream of categorisation of Scheduled Castes by Andhra Pradesh government.

Lauding Telangana government led by TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao for approving the SC categorisation into A, B, C, and D groups recently, he demanded AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to follow suit.

A posse of police was present at the meeting, in the wake of Mala Mahanadu threat to obstruct the meeting. Earlier, the MSF took a rally led by Krishna Madiga in the town from NTR circle to SV University.
