The Convocation Ceremony of the 94 degree engineering course and the 22 technical entry scheme course (B Tech) was conducted at the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) on Friday.

Hyderabad: The Convocation Ceremony of the 94 degree engineering course and the 22 technical entry scheme course (B Tech) was conducted at the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) on Friday. Dr Avinash Chander, Scientific Adviser to Defence Minister & Secretary Department of Defence R&D, was the chief guest at the event.

Dr Chander conferred the degrees and awards to the engineering graduates of the Indian Army in a ceremony witnessed by more than 400 service personnel and their families. A total of 22 officers of 94 degree engineering course and 35 officers of 22 technical entry scheme course were awarded bachelor of technology degree from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi during the convocation ceremony. Besides the B Tech parchments, awards were conferred on the outstanding officers by the Chief Guest.

The graduating officers have to design and fabricate projects that meet the requirements of the ‘Field Army’, as well as demonstrate their knowledge in futuristic technologies as part of their training curriculum. “Transformer Health Monitoring System” project was adjudged best in DE-94 (Electronics) and “Compressed Air Generator” project was adjudged best in DE-94 (Mechanical) Course. “Hand Gesture Based Sensor Application” and “Auto Intensity Control of Street Lights” project was adjudged best in TES -22 Course.
