Khammam: Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao on Friday undertook a whirlwind tour on a bike in several areas of Khammam city. Nageswara Rao visited Ramalayam at NSP quarters and offered special prayers. Later, he inspected the temple premises and found that there was no direct way from bypass road to temple.

The Minister gave instructions to Khammam RDO T Vinay Krishna Reddy and Khammam Urban Tahsildar Venka Reddy to acquire necessary land for laying road to temple from bypass road. “Measures should be taken for laying the road ahead of Sriramanavami festival,” he instructed the officials.

The Minister also inspected railway underbridge (RUB) works at Saradhi Nagar. He enquired with the site engineer Janardhan Reddy about the progress of RUB works and directed him to ensure that it is ready by Ugadi festival. Later, he inaugurated the office complex of Minor Irrigation Department near R&B Guest House which was constructed at a cost of Rs 1.7 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister directed Revenue officials to free government lands from encroachers and allocate the same for government offices. He instructed the officials concerned to clear pending works in the district as early as possible.
