Hyderabad: In yet another case of cyber perversion, a man was arrested on Friday for creating a fake account on Facebook in the name of a woman and indulging in vulgar chat with many people. Cyber crime sleuths of Cyberabad arrested Begari Praveen Kumar, a resident of Tukkuguda, Ranga Reddy district, for creating a fake profile impersonating a woman who was known to her. He also allegedly sent abusive SMSs to her mobile phone.
On November 3, 2014, a woman from Thukkuguda lodged a petition wherein she said that for the last one year, some unknown persons had been writing rumours on the walls of Thukkuguda village about her and others which she did not take seriously initially. Subsequently, the person also started writing abusive comments in public toilets of Lower Tank Bund area along with her mobile number. Due to that, the complainant got many anonymous phone calls.
The case was investigated by S Rajasekhar Reddy, Inspector of Police, Cyber Crime PS, assisted by sub-inspector Mahipal Reddy, under the guidance of Sri Jayaram, ACP, Cyber Crime PS, Cyberabad and supervision of B Srinivas Reddy, Addl. DCP (Crimes), Cyberabad. C V Anand, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, appreciated the work of the officers in detecting the case and arresting the accused.
