Konda couple allege raw deal

Hyderabad: TRS MLA Konda Surekha, who has been keeping low profile for last few days after being denied a berth in the cabinet, met Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao along with her husband Konda Murali on Saturday.

According to Surekha, she explained to the Chief Minister about her feelings following denial of a berth in the cabinet. She felt that the Chief Minister was misled by party leaders from Warangal. She said that the Chief Minister had explained the circumstances due to which he could not accommodate her and she was not convinced.

However, sources said that Surekha had told KCR that she had been made a scapegoat and reminded KCR about the promise that was made to her before she joined TRS. She said some leaders from Warangal indulged in false propaganda against her. She also sought MLC berth for her husband.

KCR, it is said, patiently heard whatever she said and clarified that she was not left out due to the complaints by TRS Warangal leaders. The list was finalised solely keeping various equations in mind and not due to feedback from anybody. The party would definitely recognise leaders for their sincere efforts, he stressed.

He reportedly told them to work along with district leaders to strengthen the party. He emphasised on sensitizing people about various flagship schemes of the government. The Konda couple had been trying for CM’s appointment for last week even before CM finalised his new team. Surekha wished to put her case before him but she could not succeed.
