Two students drowned in Maisamma lake near Moosapet under Kukatpally police limits on Saturday evening, the police said on Sunday.
Hyderabad: Two students drowned in Maisamma lake near Moosapet under Kukatpally police limits on Saturday evening, the police said on Sunday.
The deceased identified as Sheik Moinuddin and Sheik Sameer, both aged 13 and residents of Borabanda left for playing on Saturday and did not return. Parents desperately searched every possible place the whole day, but could not trace them. Based on a complaint lodged by Sheik Qasim, father of Sheik Moinuddin, police started search operation. While searching, they found clothes and shoes lying on the bank of the Maisamma lake in Moosapet area.
“We suspect the students might have slipped into the deep waters who entered the lake apparently for swimming,” said the police.
Police fished out the bodies on Sunday and shifted them to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for autopsy following which they were handed over to their family members. A case under Section 174 (suspicious death) of CrPC was registered.
