Tellapur-BHEL road flyover ready
The flyover has already come into use for vehicles and with the finishing touches set to be completed in next few days, a formal inauguration of the facility is expected to be scheduled in the first week of next month.

An end to the harrowing times for scores of motorists at Tellapur-BHEL road stretch seems to be round the corner with the Road over Bridge (RoB) works across the railway tracks finally completed. A few minor works and completion of service roads later, the facility would be formally opened for traffic in the first week of January, 2015.
Running for a total length of around one km, the RoB connecting the Mumbai highway side from Patancheru with emerging residential hubs of Tellapur, Nallagandla and towards Madhapur-Gachibowli was taken up in March 2011. Though it was scheduled to be completed by October 2013, work on the project taken up by the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department at an estimated cost of Rs. 47 crore, got delayed for more than a year.
The flyover which forks after crossing the railway tracks with one arm landing towards Tellapur-Nallagandla and another leading towards Gachibowli promises to address the problem of traffic choking at the narrow tunnel on the highway. Till now, the only other option was crossing the rail tracks and with gates closed for the trains several times in the day, vehicles used to end up in long queues.
Though the main structure of the RoB that comes with a 7.50 metre carriageway and set on 46 spans was completed sometime back, the delay had been with shifting of utilities such as water pipelines and attending to the service road that caused a few months delay, according to the officials.
“The service road is being done now and after BT and tar layers, this part would be done next week. We will add one more layer of tar on the bridge from Monday and then it will also be ready,” said P. Venkat Swamy, project manager.
