Warangal: Protest by the examinations branch employees of Kakatiya University seeking extra duty remuneration entered the fifth day on Monday.

The employees stalled the announcement of results of B Ed. The results of various other examinations would also be stalled, the leaders of protesting employees said. All the financial transactions would be stalled from December 23 onwards and a bandh would be observed on December 30, they added. It may be noted that the employees of the examinations branch were being given remuneration twice in a year since they need to work round the clock in conducting the examinations.

They submitted a representation to the in-charge Vice-Chancellor Prof K Veera Reddy but the issue was not addressed. “Officials should give up their negligent attitude and address the issue immediately,” said the protesting employees.

KUNGOs Association President Kola Shanker, leaders S Balaji, K Sampath, K Ravi, Gazetted Officers Association leaders Y Samson and V Krishnamacharya, Fourth Class Employees Association President P Venkatram Narsaiah, leaders Ch Prabakar, P Ankoos, Md Shukur and others were present. Association of Kakatiya University Teachers (AKUT) President Prof M Sarangapani called on the protesting employees and expressed his solidarity with them.
