Govt officials told to work with commitment

Warangal: Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary called upon the government officials to work with commitment and effectively implement the welfare programmes introduced by the state government.
The Speaker on Thursday formally launched the supply of six kg rice to each member of family having white ration cards, supply of eggs and mid-day meal to all pregnant women and children in Anganwadis and supply of fine quality rice to inmates of welfare hostels.
He attended a programme organised at Kompalli village in Bhupalpalli mandal in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, Madhsudhana Chary told the officials to work responsibly for achieving the goals set by the state government in implementing the welfare programmes. “Laxity on part of the officials in implementing the welfare programmes to the beneficiaries would not be tolerated,” he said. The state government has been going ahead with specific objectives in executing the welfare programmes for the welfare of downtrodden sections. The officials should do their part in maintaining transparency in implementation of the programmes, he said.
‘One Full Meal’ to pregnant women, lactating mothers and children in the age group of seven months to three years was aimed to address the problem of malnutrition. The diet including 200 ml milk, one egg for pregnant women and lactating mothers and one egg for children would be supplied throughout the month.
“A healthy mother alone could give birth to a healthy child,” he said. The officials should create awareness among women on consumption of nutritious food and significance of ‘One Full Meal’ initiative, Madhusudhana Chary said.
The supply of fine variety of rice to schools for mid-day meal programme would improve the quality of the food supplied to the students. The government was committed to provide food security cards and social security pensions to all eligible persons in the state. The Speaker said that a BT road would be laid to connect Kompalli village to the mandal headquarters. Later, Speaker Madhusudhana Chary distributed new clothes to Chenchu tribals at Moranchapalli and Chelpur village in Bhupalpalli Assembly segment. About 1500 tribal men and women were given the clothes.
The initiative was aimed to improve the living standards of Chenchu community which was living away from the society. Continuous efforts would be made to bring visible change in their lives, he added.
