Khammam: Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said on Thursday that people’s cooperation is needed for effective implementation of welfare schemes. He inaugurated distribution of rice for those who are holding food security cards at cotton market yard in Enkoor mandal headquarters.

Speaking on the occasion, Tummala Nageswara Rao said that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has introduced food security cards to ensure sufficient rice is distributed to every eligible poor person in the state. He said that the government would work in the New Year as per the wishes and aspirations of people.

“Chief Minister is making efforts to ensure Telangana state occupies number one position in development in the next four-and-a-half-years,” he added.

He assured people of placing Khammam district in number one position among all districts in the state. He asked the government employees to work honestly for instilling a feeling among people that government offices are temples. He expressed anguish that poor and downtrodden sections have suffered due to corruption and negligence of previous state governments.

“Previous governments never made an attempt to win people’s faith,” he added. He said that all those political parties have lost in previous general elections as they failed to win the people’s heart.

Minister pointed out that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao gave him a place in the cabinet even though he lost in the election as he always stood by people. Tummala stated that people in the district are expressing happiness that he was given Minister post.

“I will take up welfare and developmental works in the district for fulfilling the trust reposed by people on me,” he added.
