Sri Lankan boys annexed the Second Rajiv Gandhi International Under -9 T-20 Cricket Championship-2015 trophy, organised by Cricket Federation of Hyderabad (CFH), with a scintillating performance at Lal Bahadur Stadium on Friday. The floodlit summit clash was an absorbing one although a fine all-round effort by Raviteja went in vain as India lost the match by five wickets.

Batting first, India managed to post 139 for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated overs. Raviteja (31) and Praveet Raj (27) did the bulk of scoring while Arvind picked up three wickets. The Sri Lankan colts went for the chase right from the start and accomplished the task, thanks to Sanesh who made 51 and Rachandra who chipped in with 30. Raviteja returned with a 2/26 haul.

Later, Karnataka Food Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao and Congress Floor leader in Telangana State Assembly gave away the prizes. CFH chairman and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumanth Rao, Sri Lanka Cricket Board treasurer Nuski Mohammed, founder-member of Malaysian Cricket Board, Charlie Chelliah, Congress leaders M Anjan Kumar Yadav and Farooq Hussain, and organising secretary, S Srikanth Goud, graced the occasion. Brief scores-final: India 139/7 (Raviteja 31, Praveet Raj 27, Hafees 20, Arvind 3/37) lost to Sri Lanka 142/5 in 18.5 overs (Sanesh 51, Rachandra 30, Raviteja 2/26).
