Khammam: District Collector Dr K Ilambarithi on Sunday launched two drama artists’ mobile troupes at the Zilla Parishad grounds, here, sponsored by local municipal corporation in a bid to bring public awareness, particularly among the town residents, about swine flu.

Addressing the gathering, he said so far no swine flu case was registered in the district. Enough medicines were available in government hospitals to face any situation efficiently. Separate wards were set up to treat patients at the district hospital and even at the community hospitals.

Required equipment was kept ready at the district hospitals, he stated.

The Collector called upon the people to be alert about swine flu. He suggested to them to wash hands with soap frequently, to avoid shaking hands to the extent possible and to adopt the traditional ‘namaskar’. He stressed that not all colds were symptoms of swine flu. If people had apprehension with severe cold they should visit the district hospital for proper diagnosis. The flu could be controlled if people observed personal hygiene.
