Five held with Brazilian currency
Foreign currency worth Rs 67 lakh was seized by Task Force (Central) police from five persons in Nampally on Tuesday. The Brazilian currency (Cruzados) of 500 denominations worth Rs 66, 81,500, a car and five cell phones were recovered from the accused.

Acting on a tip-off, the sleuths aprehended the accused while they were waiting near Hotel Park in Nampally to “trade” with potential customers. “The gang members procured 581 outdated Brazilian Cruzados from two other persons - Ravi and Kumar - both native of Tamil Nadu.
As per their plan, one of the arrested, Chiranjeevi, who stayed and worked at various hotels in Hyderabad and Secunderabad for about 20 years, came to Hyderabad in a car with the outdated currency with an intention to sell them to gullible customers,” DCP, Task Force, B Limba Reddy said.
