Nellore: The Central Excise and Customs department is receiving huge revenue through transactions in the Krishnapatnam Port after the State bifurcation, said Commissioner S A Rahman here on Tuesday. Rahman conducted a review meeting with port officials on the occasion of the International Customs Day.

He reviewed the exports and imports with the Port CEO, Anilkumar. He said the port income was Rs 1,248.55 crore as on December 2014. This was likely to go up to Rs.1,580 crore, according to estimates. He stated that the export and import of iron ore, cement and granites from the port this year totalled 48 billion tonnes, 40 per cent more than the preceding year’s imports.
