Hyderabad: The Special Operations Team (SOT) of Cyberabad on Wednesday morning conducted a raid on a house located at Hanuman Nagar under Rajendranagar police station limits and found huge explosives dump. The police took six persons into custody.

According to police, the accused were identified as Guram Bakkaiah, 41, Varikupalla Anjaiah, 45, Gunja Venkataiah, 45, Shivarathri Narsimha, 45, Yedulla Narsimha Reddy, 40 and Vijay, 37. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the house and seized explosive substances including 1,620 detonators, 1,350 gelatine sticks, 30 kg Ammonia, four compressors and tractors, 20 connecting wire bundles and one blasting box. On enquiry, the police came to know that the main accused Yellaiah, resident of Manikonda, who is absconding, had dumped the explosives in the house without having any valid licence. “He is absconding and after catching hold of him, the source of supply of the material will be known,” said S Venkat Reddy, Inspector Rajendranagar.
