The Global Digi Media Village (P) Ltd, [GDMV], a nascent company set up with a large spectrum of media & movie related unique activities today (Jan 29, 2015) announced their plans to produce a feature film on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pet project, ‘Swachh Bharat’ targeting the youth.

Addressing a media conference in Vijayawada, Mr. Muneer Ahamed, Chairman and CEO of the Vijayawada based company said the feature film will have all the essentials of a good movie with social messages.

“This movie project will be an infotainment as well as entertainment” said Mr. Muneer Ahamed, adding there is no politics involved. “Like the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’, we are also beyond politics,” he asserted.

Listing out the company’s various schemes and programmes, he said the company is planning to launch a complete and fully equipped media institute of world class standards, from the coming academic year. He said process is on in this regard.

The institute will offer various courses – journalism, movie, animation, new media and broadcasting. “Many of these sectors are highly competitive, will help students boost their employability by gaining practical experience alongside their studies. Some courses will include work placements and ‘live’ projects within the curriculum,” he said.

Teaching faculty will include experts drawn from the region, the country and the world.

Students undergoing movie related courses will have the opportunity to direct and work in other areas of their specialisation in the production of feature films by GDMV. These movies will be released through a chain of entertainment centres across the state to begin with.

“Our media institute’s programmes are designed to bridge the gap between traditional academia and industry demands by providing qualifications that demonstrate competency in the digital movie and media skills so highly sought after by the industry today”, he said.

Mr. Muneer Ahamed also mentioned that GDMV will have separate units for media research, movie production and distribution, marketing and setting up of audio/video studios on franchise basis throughout the country in phases.

Mr. Kanaka Raju, Director (Finance) said that GDMV will have a separate portal –‘media bank’, where any media professional could upload his or her portfolio. This portal will serve as a virtual employment exchange where industry professionals could draw right talents to suit their requirement.

He also said that GDMV has plans to conduct Indian and International Film Festivals all over the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Marketing Director of the company, Ravi Kumar Raju mentioned that the company is in the process of launching a media club with unique features and modules. “Unlike other clubs, GDMV’s Media Club will be a gateway for every media person and also those who have interest in media to exhibit individual talents besides being a mind relaxation and entertainment avenue,” he said.

The club’s activities will also include annual awards presentation for the best work in media including movies by its members, apart from periodical get-togethers and cultural events.

“We have chosen Seemandhra to launch our first project because of the fact that the glory of India’s film industry lies within Andhra Pradesh. Our company intends to grow fast and provide a place to Andhra Pradesh’s media persons, where they could meet as friends than competing professionals.
