On Thursday, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that the agriculture sector and industries should not be affected with power supply issues and asked the power officials to ensure that.

A CMO release stated that Mr. Rao be it any rate for the purchase of electricity but the agriculture and industries should not be affected in the state.


Reviewing the power supply conditions with the officials, Mr. Rao was told that to overcome the deficiency of about 800 MW, four to five million units of electricity is being bought from power exchange daily.


The Chief Minister in response told them that the prospects of attaining power should be explored from eastern power grid from Kayamkulum in Kerala and also through solar power.


The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of Damarcherla power plant in the state. With various plans including short and long term, the Mr. Rao was informed that the power crisis is unlikely and it definitely won’t be affecting the agriculture and industry stated the release.
