New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will head a new agency - The Delhi Dialogue Commission - that will implement the AAP's 70-point agenda for the capital's growth, officials said Friday.A meeting of the Delhi cabinet chaired by Kejriwal approved the setting up of a nine-member advisory body to ensure the execution of the Aam Aadmi Party government's vision for governance.

The commission will have Kejriwal as its chairperson and party colleague Ashish Khetan as vice chairperson. Its members will include Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia along with the chief secretary of Delhi, the principal secretary of finance, the secretary to the chief minister and a member secretary to be appointed by the chairperson.

The chairperson will also nominate two other members to the body."The vested interests of successive governments and their remoteness from their constituents ensured that the most fundamental needs of the people of Delhi have remained unaddressed," an official statement said.

"Through the commission, we will not only remove the distance between the government and people but will also tap into people's everyday experiences and professional knowledge to draw up policy-level interventions in order to deliver on the 70-point manifesto," it said. The commission will constitute task groups on various subjects.

Some of the initial panels will be about rejuvenating the Yamuna and other water bodies in Delhi, women's safety, e-governance, CCTVs and Wi-Fi, comprehensive waste management, affordable and clean energy, creating employment and improving standards of education.
