Dharmapuri: Unidentified persons made an attempt to loot the proceeds of the hundi of Sri Raja Rajeshwaralayam temple at Akkampalli village of Dharmapuri mandal here in the Karimnagar district.


Soon after the priests left after locking the temple, thieves entered by breaking open the lock of the main door of the temple. As they failed to find valuable items, they entered the temple’s office and stole the hundi and fled. Some passers-by who saw the temple main door lock broke open immediately informed the temple Committee president, Shyam about the incident. Meanwhile, some of the villagers noticed a thief trying to break the hundi stolen from the temple. Sensing trouble, the thief tried to give a slip to the villagers. However, villagers chased the thief and nabbed him. On receiving information, Dharmapuri Circle Inspector Venkata Ramana rushed to the temple and took the thief into custody The thief is identified as Thoutam Santhosh of Lakshmi Narasimha Colony of Dharmapuri mandal.
