It was awards galore for the Hyderabad Motorsport Club, popularly known as HMC, at the India Bike Week (IBW) 2015, which was held in Goa recently. The group championed nine of the fifteen categories. The team members were acknowledged by international racer Ian King at IBW. The trophies won at the event were displayed at Muffakhamjah Engineering College, Banjara Hills, on Saturday.

The winners in each category of the IBW were selected based on their overall speed, reaction time and race against time, all of which were approved and conducted under the regulations of Federation of Motorsports Club of India (FMSCI). Liaqat Ali, secretary of HMC, said, “People consider racing as a rogue’s play but we are here to change this misconception. The HMC supports safe riding.

Today’s youth is thrilled by speed and their passion can be utilised in the better way than wasting it on the roads, which is dangerous not only to the rider but also the innocent citizens” Ali appealed to the government to make a good track with basic amenities to promote the sport and help aspirants.
