A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice A Ramalingeshwar Rao on Friday granted four weeks time to the Principal Secretary to dispose of the application filed with regard to the regularisation of children of victims of violence.

The Telangana government had come up with a policy to grant employment for members of the family who died in police violence. The bench is dealing with a contempt case filed by P Santosh Reddy complaining that his case for regularisation was not being considered by the authorities despite orders of the court made in this regard way back in April 2012.It was contended by the petitioner that the government failed to act on the relevant representations.It is also contended that though the appeal of the government before the Apex court was unsuccessful the government failed to pass orders in his case.

PIL against Wakf Board adjourned

A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice A Ramalingeshwar Rao on Friday adjourned by two weeks a PIL filed against the Wakf Board and others for failure to take action against former Karwan MLA Mohammad Muqtada Khan on allegations of mortgaging Wakf property. In his representation , the petitioner Osman bin Mohammad Al Hajri complained that the deceased MLA had raised monies from the erstwhile Charminar Cooperative Bank by mortgaging properties of the Wakf by presenting them as his own and though representations were made, the authorities did not act.

HC adjourns plea on judges recruitment

A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sen Gupta and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar adjourned to Tuesday the PIL seeking to stall recruitment to Junior Civil Judges. The PIL is filed by Sarsani Satyam Reddy, a senior advocate seeking a declaration that the action of the authorities in not bifurcating the subordinate judicial officers and other judicial employees of the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh as per Section 77 of A.P. Reorganisation Act 2014 and not distributing subordinate Judicial Officers and other employees to the State of Telangana and to the State of Andhra Pradesh. The petitioner also contended that the notification issued by the High Court in 2014 and 2015 for recruitment of Junior Civil Judges should not be proceeded with till the staff is bifurcated and the strength determined inter se the states of Telangana and AP. The hearing comes a day after an application to clarify the position before the Apex court ended in the court making clear that the process go on.The division bench today granted time to the parties to produce the order of the Supreme Court and the applications filed before the Apex court before it embarks on any hearing of the case.
