Hyderabad: A heartening moment took place on Saturday when a heart stopped the entire way of the Begumpet-Somajiguda road. A patient, Padma from Khammam who was suffering from severe heart-related problems and had serious issues with the pumping of heart needed an urgent heart transplant.

The transplant was to take place at Somajiguda's Yashoda Hospital and the heart of a brain dead patient in a Bangalore hospital was being brought to Hyderabad. With the flight landing at 1.30 Pm in Hyderabad, the city traffic police created a green corridor for the ambulance carrying the heart; the traffic was stopped for over three minutes.


At least five hours is the duration for the heart transplant and the patient would be kept in incubation after 48 hours.
