Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu seemed to be deeply disappointed with the Union Budget.

Mr Naidu on Saturday stated his disappointment which was carefully couched to but still made a strong point. He even added that he intended to meet the Prime Minister and Union Finance Minister to discuss that his state deserved better.

Explaining that Andhra Pradesh never aspired to be a separate state, Mr. Naidu said that before division, we and Narendra Modi made promises to Andhra Pradesh which is why people voted for us. He also said that now government of India and NDA are not doing justice.

The Chief Minister was critical of allocations made to agriculture as they were not sufficient. Despite 42 percent devolution under the new finance commission recommendations, and extra allocations, he said that AP will still be a revenue-deficit state.

He said that AP had a bad year with damage of Rs 61,000 crore with Hudhud Cyclone, 36 percent drought; the budget is disappointing with the insufficient allocations letting down the people of AP.
