Not happy, but satisfied: TRS
The TRS Parliamentary Party on Saturday welcomed many aspects of the Union Budget, but made it clear that it would continue to demand for tax incentives and special area development packages for the backward regions. “Our need is special package, tax incentives because Telangana is a newly-born state and coming of industries should be encouraged,” said Jitender Reddy, party’s parliamentary party leader.
New Delhi: The TRS Parliamentary Party on Saturday welcomed many aspects of the Union Budget, but made it clear that it would continue to demand for tax incentives and special area development packages for the backward regions. “Our need is special package, tax incentives because Telangana is a newly-born state and coming of industries should be encouraged,” said Jitender Reddy, party’s parliamentary party leader.
However, he welcomed the construction of six crore toilets under Swach Bharat Abhiyan, changes to individual taxation and measures to provide health insurance. Meanwhile, TRS Rajya Sabha MP K Keshav Rao said, “I am not happy but satisfied.” Daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Nizamabad MP K Kavitha was more critical of the budget.

She said it sounded like a vision document for the next four years, we were expecting lots of measures to address the needs of farmers like loan waiver. She said the party MPs would not hesitate to disrupt Parliament if performing PSUs or navaratnas were disinvested.
The only praise that came from her on the budget was government’s aim to monetize gold. MP Vinod Kumar welcomed the new policy incentives for the industries which he said reflect the initiative of KCR taken in the state to boost industrial growth. After Kavitha’s remarks the MPs started to be critical of the Budget and started to denounce the budget.
