New Delhi: Bracing for a possible showdown with the Centre, the AAP government is likely to reject a panel of three senior IAS officers sent by the Union Home Ministry to pick the next Chief Secretary, sticking to its demand of appointing 1984-batch R S Negi to the top post. The thinking in the Delhi government was that the Centre cannot impose any officer on it and that there would be nothing wrong in appointing Negi to the top bureaucratic post as he was currently serving as Chief Secretary of bordering state of Arunachal Pradesh, top sources said.
