Naidu, Pawan discuss ways to take on Delhi. An exasperated Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is all set to take help of Jana Sena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan to exert pressure on the Centre with regard to special status and financial package to the State.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu with Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan at his residence in Hyderabad on SundayHyderabad: An exasperated Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is all set to take help of Jana Sena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan to exert pressure on the Centre with regard to special status and financial package to the State. The duo met on Sunday morning at the Naidu’s residence and discussed the special status and financial package and state-related issues. They closeted for one and half hour and shared their views and ideas in this regard.

The meeting assumes significance as Pawan Kalyan has tweeted a few days ago that time is ripe for the BJP government at the Centre to keep its promise of providing adequate assistance to Andhra Pradesh. It is pertinent to note that some farmers with Jana Sena flags staged a protest at capital city area in Guntur against ‘forcible’ land pooling. Nonetheless, majority of the farming community or those with lands came forward to give their piece for the capital city; but there was also some confusion and displeasure by some others giving their lands for the purpose. Pawan is likely to visit capital city area on Monday.

Later talking to mediapersons Chandrababu clarified that he sought Pawan Kalyan’s help with regard to construction of world class new capital for the state. Naidu sought cooperation from the actor to accompany him to national capital or join him to exert pressure on the Centre.Interestingly, Pawan Kalyan too reportedly expressed his discontent over the Union Budget 2015 that failed to give clarity on special status issue and financial package. Though Prime Minister Narendra Modi has time and again promised to extend complete support for the new capital construction and special financial assistance, the budget failed to reflect the same, they felt.

It is learnt that Pawan agreed with Naidu that the Centre did not honor the assurances that were given to AP. The actor is said to have agreed to a proposal to go to Delhi to meet Modi and meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and try to get adequate funds and special status for the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh. He will also seek more funds for Polavaram and other schemes. Both the leaders are likely to embark on a national capital tour with all details in a short time.
