The 77 year old Anna is set to undertake a footmarch to protest the Land Acquistion Bill, has received life threats on social networking site Facebook, police said on Wednesday.

Kisan Baburao "Anna" Hazare led movements to promote rural development, increase government transparency, and investigate and punish corruption in public life. A Kalyan resident Ashok Gautam (57), who is associated with the movement of the veteran activist, has been getting messages in his account about harming Hazare since last three weeks following which he lodged a complaint on Tuesday night, inspector DM Katke of MFC police station said.

An FIR has been filed against two Canada-based persons-- Agan Vidhu and his friend Neil--who threatened to come down to India and shoot Hazare dead.. Police is trying to trace the IP address from which the threat was issued besides carrying out a detailed probe with the help of the cyber cell of the police commissionerate here.

Anna had staged a protest on February 24, against the contentious land ordinance brought out by the CNDa decried it as a “weapon for land grab.” The mentor of AAP and Delhi Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal, plans a 1100 km padayatra to put pressure on the Central Government against “anti-farmer” provisions in the Land Acquisition Act. The padayatra will begin from Gandhi Ashram at Sewagram in Wardha of Gujarat and will end at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi, which will take around 3 months to cover the distance.
