A survey titled ‘Quality of Life 2015’ by consulting firm, Mercer revealed Hyderabad has been ranked above all the other Indian cities based on quality of living. The survey also stated that Indian cities made little progress compared to other top cities in the world.


Several factors have led to Hyderabad emerging as the city of choice that includes English-speaking schools, improved options for international and the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad that offers a good series of international flights improving the ranking on account of public services.

While Hyderabad stood at 138, Pune was ranked at 148, Mumbai - 152 and New Delhi - 154.


Ruchika Pal, Indian Practice Leader (Global Mobility), Mercer said that recently WHO published data on pollution around the world that showed 13 of the world’s 20 most-polluted cities are in India impacting the overall scores of Indian cities in the survey. Population rise in New Delhi and Mumbai increased issues including air pollution, traffic congestion and access to clean water.
