Maruti has once again delivered the best fuel efficient cars in India with the new Dzire and its launch has made it the most fuel efficient car in the market.The new version of Dzire is powered with same 1.3L 74bhp but revision comes in ECU resulting in higher fuel efficiency of 2.2km/ltr. Claiming to have a 26.5hm/ltr ARAI mileage, it is the most fuel efficient car till date.


The engine also comes with new premium features such as five-speed manual gearbox, push button start, Bluetooth connectivity, auto folding mirrors, standard ABS in the middle variants and rear parking sensors. Priced at INR 5.99 lakhs for the base variant, the top variant of Dzire costs INR 7.81 lakhs.


Honda City


Honda City for a long time has been the most fuel efficient car in India with its mileage of 26km/ltr. Honda City’s diesel version shares 1.5L diesel engine with Amaze but is re-tuned slightly for better refinement and fuel efficiency.


With a power of 99bhp, the Honda City comes equipped with an additional 6th gear for relaxed cruising. Priced at INR 8.75 lakhs for the base variant, Honda City’s equipped variant will cost INR 9.93 lakhs. Even though it falls under the costliest car categories, Honda City definitely is the perfect blend of style and efficiency.


Maruti Ciaz


Maruti Ciaz replaced SX4 last year turning out to be the most fuel efficient diesel car in its segment. Equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox, Ciaz has the renowned 1.3L DDIS diesel engine from Fiat with a power output of 89 bhp fuel efficiency returns of 26.2km/ltr. Ciaz is priced at INR 8.04 lakhs for its base variant while the loaded variant is priced at INR 9.80 lakhs making it one of the best mid-size sedans available in India. Honda Amaze

With 25.8km/ltr ARAI mileage, Amaze has similar technical specifications of City and the difference stands out is a five-speed manual gearbox feature. The Amaze has safety features such ABS with EBD and starts at a price of INR 6.20 lakhs while the top variant, VX is priced at 7.75 lakhs.
