Hyderabad: With the budget sessions of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh legislative assemblies slated to commence from March 7, police of both States are involved in providing bandobust to guard the Assemblies’ premises. “Telangana State Special Force battalions will be guarding the Assembly premises,'' Hyderbabad Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy said, adding that additional personnel from districts and other units would also be deployed for bandobust duty.

“While the convoys of Chief Ministers of both the States would have free movement in the Assembly, there will be restrictions on the entry and exit points, media points and parking of vehicles of all legislatures. One SP rank police official will be deputed by both States for better coordination of security and other arrangements,” Reddy added.

Police personnel from Seemandhra region were already being drawn to make sure that there would be no security hassles during the budget sessions. The commissioner added armed personnel would be guarding the Assembly premises. Meanwhile, the Speakers had separate meetings with the DGPs and other senior police officers on the security arrangements for the budget sessions.

Every kind of assembly or public meeting or procession that has potential to cause disturbance to the public peace and safety within a radius of 2 km of the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States Legislative Assembly/Council building is prohibited, the police chief said.
