Suzuki has unveiled its iK-2 hatchback at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. i-K2 is the same car which was earlier referred to ‘YRA’ for the Indian market. The company is using a new generation light weight platform which they claim will improve basic vehicle performance. It has been designed to increase rigidity without increasing weight and will also help in increasing the fuel efficiency, safety, handling performance, stability, and NVH performance.

Suzuki says that iK-2 has been inspired from the concept of ‘harmonised force’ and follows a ‘liquid flow’ design philosophy. It sports flowing curves throughout the body. The chrome lined front grille and swept back LED head lamps try to add to the visual theme.

Unfortunately, as we have already seen in spy pics, the face fails to inspire freshness and reminds us of a lot of other Suzukis. The falling roofline looks interesting and the rear windscreen is a bulging tiny unit. There is a roof spoiler and the tail lamp has a fairly modern looking layout with LEDs.

Powering the iK-2 is a brand new Boosterjet 1.0 Liter direct injection turbocharged petrol engine, official specs of which have not been revealed yet! The layout has been optimised and various technologies, they say, have been used to reduce weight and size. The concept model is 4,023 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and has an overall height of 1,450. i-K2 comes with a fairly long wheelbase of 2,520 mm and meaty 225/45 18 inch tyres.
