Swine flu death toll rises to 73 in Telangana

Two more people, a 30 year old woman from Medak District and 45 year old man from Hyderabad have succumbed to the Swine Flu virus and lost their battle in Gandhi Hospital on Monday. The death toll has now reached 73 in Telangana since January 1.

Dr K. Narsimulu, nodal officer at Gandhi Hospital said that the patients came in very late for the treatment and added that despite the awareness created regarding the H1N1 virus, in many cases people are coming too late for the treatment.

The information programme needs to be conducted at the grassroots levels to prompt people to go for treatment early. People are advised to take necessary precautions in case of travelling to different states in India.
