Hyderabad: Shattered over the major losses the Tollywood has suffered as many veteran as well as young film celebrities died since 2014, the captains of the industry have decided to perform Amrutha Paasupatha Maha Mrityunjaya Homam under the supervision of Sri Swaroopananda Swami for three days from March 23.

Announcing this, actor-turned-politician M Murali Mohan said that the yagna would be conducted to pay homage to film personalities who passed away and to bring a sense of confidence that evil would be warded off.

It has been decided to perform the yagna as the film industry is a place where sentiments are respected more than anything else. Many stalwarts in the industry of late have been feeling that the industry was under the influence of some evil spirits.

Starting with Uday Kiran in 2014, Telugu film personalities like Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Ramanaidu, Sri Hari, K Balachander, Ganesh Patro, Aahuti Prasad, A Vincent, MS Narayana, Narra Vijayalakshmi, Jagapati Rajendraprasad , Nandamuri Janakiram and PG Sharma, Chakri, Telangana Sakuntala, Saikumar’s father PJ Sharma, Mukkuraju, Bhaskar Rao and many others passed away.

To overcome the ill-omens feared to be stalking the film industry, prominent members of the industry decided to perform the yagna.
