Hyderabad: The Opposition YSRCP and the TDP are trying to outsmart each other on the issue of Pattiseema project. While the YSRCP took out a rally from Ambedkar Statue to the Assembly and staged a dharna outside the Assembly on Monday and has decided to take up bus yatra from Wednesday, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has asked officials to make arrangements for the laying of foundation stone for the project in next two days.

On Monday morning, YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy convened a meeting of party MLAs to discuss the next course of action to put the state government on mat. About 30 MLAs attended the meeting. Later the MLAs took out a rally from the Ambedkar Statue near tank bund to the Assembly. However, Jagan was neither present at the Ambedkar Statue nor took part in the rally.

Deputy floor leader Jyothula Nehru told the media that they would hold a mock assembly on Tuesday and will embark on bus yatra from Wednesday. They would visit the Pattiseema area as well as Polavaram project area. Nehru said the party would study in depth about the projects and review the impact of Pattiseema on Polavaram. They will then visit the Pothireddypadu head regulator area.

They propose to go to the people and explain the alleged adverse impact of the Pattiseema project. Nehru said the idea behind organizing the mock assembly was to give expression to their view since the Speaker and the government were not giving them an opportunity to explain the issue in the Assembly. He said their appeals for being allowed to speak were falling on deaf ears forcing them to decide to boycott the session.

“We felt that we would not be given an opportunity inside the Assembly to give voice to the woes of the people. So, we have decided to go to the people and explain the wrong doings of the government”, Nehru said. He has alleged that Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao was partisan and has become a tool in the hands of the ruling party.
