It’s A Weak Budget, Rues BJP: Kishan Reddy Slams ‘Skewed’ Priorities. Describing the budget as a weak budget, the BJP alleged that the TRS Government was trying to throw its weaknesses on others.

Hyderabad: Describing the budget as a weak budget, the BJP alleged that the TRS Government was trying to throw its weaknesses on others. Participating in the discussion on Appropriation Bill in Telangana Legislative Assembly here on Thursday, BJP MLA G Kishan Reddy warned the State Government for stating every time that the Telangana is a rich State, saying it is dangerous to the State. “The aspirations of the people will increase and the people will develop hopelessness”, he said.

He alleged that there is no mention on drought in the Budget and no response on the suicides of farmers. He questioned as to why the TRS rulers, who stated earlier that the suicides during Telangana movement were 1200, are reducing the figure now and suggested to the Government to rethink on it. “Earlier the JAC had given s list of 1200 names of the students, who committed suicide, to Governor ESL Narasimhan”, he recalled.

Finding fault with the Government’s priorities, Kishan Reddy said the Government was not concentrating on small issues like collecting scrap from the houses by the GHMC. He said there was no need to construct skyscrapers, new Secretariat and Film City and there is a need to take up the clean and green programme immediately. “Earlier, the State had bagged Clean and Green City award, now the new State may win Dust and Debris award”, he quipped. He also said the GHMC officials were terrorising the people by collecting property tax even from the poor people. “Hyderabad doesn’t mean Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills”, he said.

Alleging that the TRS government was showing discriminative attitude towards non-TRS public representatives, Kishan Reddy said the State Government was discriminating Sarpanchs, ZPTCs and MPTCs in releasing funds to them. Minister KT Rama Rao said it was not proper to Kishan Reddy to make such allegations. He made it clear that the State Government was in no way connected with those funds. He said the Gram Panchayats get 70 per cent and ZPTCs 20 per cent funds from the government.
