srikakulam: Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) police traced a woman who along with her son went missing eight months ago from Narasannapeta in Srikakulam district, at Hyderabad. The police produced the woman and her son at Narasannapeta police station on Thursday. According to AHTU head constable, B.Jagadiswara Rao, the missing woman was identified as Danthukurthi Krishna Veni, 23 and her son D. Siddhu, 2. Both went missing during second week of May 2014 from Byri street in Narasannapeta mandal centre and Krishnaveni’s husband, D Vasantha Kumar lodged a complaint with the police on May 21, 2014.

Basing on the complaint, AHTU police launched investigation at Narasannapeta and Krishnaveni’s parents’ native village Kotpadu in Koraput district of Odisha state. On January 1, 2015 police found a message of New Year greetings in Krishnaveni’s parents’ cell phone and traced later that the message was sent from Hyderabad city.

Basing on the message, police traced the woman and her son at an apartment in Miyapur area in Hyderabad where she had been working as watch woman for livelihood. Both the woman and her son, will be handed over either to her parents or to her husband after making due inquiry, said the Narasannapeta circle inspector, RVSSA Chandra Sekhar and Sub-inspector, M Chinnam Naidu.
