The phones will be available in three variants: 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. The launch prices of Galaxy S6 variants are priced at Rs. 49,900 for 32 GB, Rs. 55,900 for 64 GB and Rs. 61,900 for 128 GB. The 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants of Galaxy S6 Edge have been priced at Rs. 58,900, 64,900 and 70,900, respectively.

With the new models, Samsung has taken a giant leap and spruced up the user experience by a huge margin. All features of both the models, excluding the display size, camera, and the refreshing dual edge display design, are exactly the same. In spite of that, Galaxy S6 comes with an edge over the rest. Its edges light up when the user receive a call, and so, a specific colour can be assigned to every caller. Notifications and other short-cuts feature on the sides. And since it has a bigger battery and a better UI, it costs slightly higher.

S6 and S6 Edge are more durable and have premium looks. They boast of metal sides, and have a glass back instead of the leather back. This is a refreshing change from the previous models that were made of cheap plastic. The 5.1 inch AMOLED display has a whopping 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution.

The 16 MP camera like that of Galaxy Note 4, gets an update. The devise clicks better photos by capturing more light with its faster f/1.9 lens which means the camera has a bigger aperture. The same f/1.9 lens has been employed in the 5 MP front-facing camera.

With S6 and S6 Edge, Samsung has introduced its own Exynos chip in both the models releasing all over the world. Earlier only Samsung handsets for India had this Exynos chip. The chip comes with the famous 14 nanometre architecture which makes the phone extra efficient. Apart from that, that phones will have Samsung's Exynos 7 Octa-core processor which contain two quad-core processor clocked at 2.1 GHz and 1.5 GHz respectively, coupled with the super-fast LPDDR4 RAM of 3GB.

Both models will function without absolutely no lags, will have NFC, and a UI that is least cluttered. The Android 5.0 Lollipop OS will streamline the usage.

Samsung has ditched the replaceable, removable battery, and has also come up with wireless charging option for S6. Its 2,550 mAh battery gets charged up to 50% in half an hour. In addition, the internal memory has been upgraded from 16 GB to 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB. The handsets do not offer the option of expandable memory.

Finally, with the latest Galaxy models Samsung has also rolled out its own mobile payment getaway to compete with Apple Pay. This feature will be supported in future Samsung smartphones by the company, and it will let the user make credit/debit card payment for purchases from the mobiles.
