Charge sheets filed against 88 traffic violators

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police on Friday filed charge sheets against 88 top traffic violators and produced them in courts. As a part of the drive from March 23 to March 27 against traffic violators, who did not pay the fine, traffic police shortlisted 88 top violators against whom multiple e-challans were pending and prepared a charge-sheet against them. 140 drunk drivers were also awarded imprisonment for a period varying from 1 to 15 days, apart from fine. “We have filed a charge sheet against 88 top traffic violators and produced them before local courts. The courts have imposed Rs 5. 37 lakh fine on the offenders,” Additional CP (Traffic) Jitender said.
