Hyderabad: City-based MedPlus, a leading pharmacy retailer with over 1240 stores across India, has launched India’s first of its kind pharmacy e-commerce service in the city. It plans to extend this e-tailing service to 50 other cities in the country in phases.Through this initiative, the company aims to provide buyers the opportunity to harness the benefits of e-commerce in healthcare like never before.

Under this service dubbed as ‘Click, Pick and Save’, customers can log on to MedPlusMart.com, select medicines and place an order. Alternatively, they can upload their prescription to the site and a MedPlus representative will call back to take the order. They can pick up the medicines from their nearest MedPlus store within six hours and save up to 15 per cent.

“The new initiative is an important milestone for us and we are confident that it will revolutionize the retail pharmacy landscape in the country. Our aspiration is to provide customers with seamless shopping for medicines and other health and personal care items combining offline and online services,” said Dr Madhukar Gangadi, Founder & CEO, MedPlus Health Services.

With the added convenience and benefits this service brings to the customers, we expect to double our consumer base within a year. We will replicate this model shortly in the 12 states where we have presence, he added. The pharmacy retailer has not launched home delivery services as the current government regulations don’t allow such a practice.

“Our online service not only guarantees availability of quality medicines to all customers anywhere in the city, but also provides valuable information about drug usage, side effects, etc,” said Dr Surendra Mantena, COO, MedPlus.
