3 killed, 1 injured as lorry rams into house
Three persons were killed and another suffered injuries when a speeding lorry rammed into a roadside house at Beerisettigudem village of Narasimhulapet mandal in the district on Saturday. The victims were sleeping in the house at the time of the accident that took place during the wee hours. The deceased were identified as Bandi Sunitha (35), her son Rahul Reddy (15) and daughter Pragathi (13).
Warangal: Three persons were killed and another suffered injuries when a speeding lorry rammed into a roadside house at Beerisettigudem village of Narasimhulapet mandal in the district on Saturday. The victims were sleeping in the house at the time of the accident that took place during the wee hours. The deceased were identified as Bandi Sunitha (35), her son Rahul Reddy (15) and daughter Pragathi (13). The owner of the house Srisailamma suffered minor injuries while Sunitha’s husband Bandi Ailu Reddy, who was sleeping outside the house escaped the accident.
According to the villagers, the truck driver who was reportedly in a state of drowsiness lost control of the vehicle and rammed it into the house located by the side of Warangal-Khammam highway. The family was running a small hotel in the rented house. Both the Rahul and Pragathi were school-going children. The lorry was proceeding towards Khammam and belonged to Haryana State. The impact of collision was such that it ripped apart steel sheet roof of the house. Narismhulapet Circle Inspector Sridhar Rao visited the spot and seized the lorry. However, the driver of the vehicle was absconding.
