In a shocking incident, a 22-year- -old BTech student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at Jillelaguda, under Meerpet police station in the wee hours of Sunday.

According to the police, deceased Akula Anand Sai Reddy, a third year BTech student of Vardhaman College committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his Lalitha Nagar residence.
“We have not found any suicide note as of now and prima facie evidence shows no foul play,” inspector G Biksham Reddy said, adding that police examined the CCTV footage from the house and learnt that the incident occurred on Sunday around 3.20 am.
Police suspect that dejection coupled with academic stress could be the possible reason for taking the extreme step. A case has been registered under Section 174 (Suspicious death) of the CrPC.
