The volatile, highly publicized outcome of the Movie Artistes Association (MAA) elections results is all set to be further delayed. The city civil court hearing the plea of producer and small time actor O Kalyan who filed a petition on behalf of dissenters has adjourned the case to April 7. Earlier, the court had directed the MAA authorities to not announce the results till the case was heard and dismissed by the court.


The vote counting in the most keenly contested elections of MAA have bordered on acrimony and mudslinging and have virtually divided the Tollywood community. The rival panels headed by Jayasudha and Rajendra Prasad have engaged themselves in a no holds barred campaign of slur and dust.


O Kalyan approached the court citing discrepancies in the MAA polls and demanded that MAA ex-president Murali Mohan present the accounts of the expenditure for the period of his holding office. Despite the heat and dust on TV channels and also in print media, the MAA elections were conducted smoothly and peacefully, where 394 out of 702 voted.
