Task Force (South) police on Monday busted a fake educational certificate racket with the arrest of two persons under Chandrayangutta police station limits. They seized 61 fake certificates of various educational institutes, three fake rubber stamps, cell phones besides a computer and other computer peripherals from their possession.

Hyderabad: Task Force (South) police on Monday busted a fake educational certificate racket with the arrest of two persons under Chandrayangutta police station limits. They seized 61 fake certificates of various educational institutes, three fake rubber stamps, cell phones besides a computer and other computer peripherals from their possession. Three other persons – Gaddam Venugopal, 30, Malavath Mohan, 31 and Md Mazhar Khan, 22- were absconding.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Qutubuddin Khan, 34 and Abdul Khadeer, 35, a resident of Chandrayangutta while the duo was delivering certificates to customers at My Friend's Hotel in Kanchanbagh. Fake certificates of Graduation, Masters, marks memo of B Tech of various universities like Osmania, Magadh, Allahabad etc were printed and supplied by the gang, police said.

“Qutubuddin earlier worked with Venugopal and gained experience in preparing formats of various universities through photo editing software. He purchased a computer and a colour printer and started printing fake certificates. Later he came in contact with Abdul, owner of a private tutorial centre in Chandrayangutta, who agreed to his proposal on 70:30 basis. They both struck a deal with Mazhar, principal of Crescent Junior College, Abids, for bulk orders of certificates. Mohan is also involved in the racket by placing orders,” said cops.
