Parigi (Ranga Reddy): Parigi MLA T Rammohan Reddy said that farmers must be made to enter into partnership in the Mission Kakatiya programme as it was highly beneficial to those who were heavily dependent on rainfall to carry out their activities.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, he said that the TRS government has released Rs 10 crore for the development of 70 lakes out of the 125 lakes in Parigi constituency during the first phase and advised the farmers to start their work. He said that works have already begun for some lakes in Parigi,Kurkacharla, Doma and Gandyadu mandals.
He said that desilting of lakes prevents the wastage of rainwater and also prevents the depletion of groundwater resources. He said that there were a total of 605 lakes and ponds in the constituency for which works have to be taken up. By the next rainy season, all the lakes and ponds would be filled up in his constituency, he added. TRS politburo member Harishwar Reddy said that the TRS government was fully committed to the completion of the prestigious Mission Kakatiya programme. He urged the farmers to come forward and extend their cooperation in this gigantic task.
