Gaiety marks Chilkur Balaji Brahmotsavams

Chants of “Govinda Govinda” and “Om Namo Venkatesaya” reverberated as the Brahmotsavam at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Chilkur began on Tuesday.Tens of thousands of devotes from far and wide thronged the temple to receive blessings from the Lord, who is popularly known as Visala Venkateswarudu (Visa God).

The day one of the seven day fete began with ‘Dhwajarohanam’. True to its reputation for entertaining celebrities and common men alike, there weren’t separate queues or special darshans.Special prasadam was distributed to women without children as a blessing. The temple authorities informed that kalyanam will be performed on Tuesday and a rathotsavam will be performed on Saturday.
