One killed, 2 hurt in attack

Vikarabad (Ranga Reddy): One woman was killed and two others sustained severe injuries when a group of people attacked a family on the suspicion that they were practicing sorcery (Banamati) in Velchala village of Momminpeta mandal in the district on Tuesday.

According to police, some villagers decided to attack the family of Butchaiah suspecting him to be practicing black magic in the village. While Butchaiah’s wife Mogilamma (50) was killed in the attack, Butchaiah and his son sustained serious injuries. They were shifted to the hospital. Police registered a case and took up investigation.
