The moot question raised by the Union minister Giriraj Singh who had racked up a fresh controversy by commenting that Sonia Gandhi had become Congress President only because of her white skin.

"The situation would have been different if Rajiv had married a Nigerian as his wife,” he said.

The congress leaders slammed his comments and demanded an unconditional apology. "The minister's comments reflect the mindset of the BJP leaders," said a congress spokesman.
