TRS rule reminiscent of Razakar’s, alleges MLA Rajender Reddy

Mahabubnagar: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Revanth Reddy said that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government’s lack of understanding had reflected in drafting the budget. He stated that the State government had presented the budget with a deficit in the Assembly. Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Revanth Reddy alleged that the TRS government had failed to present the budget with actual estimates.

He slammed the Telangana government for purchasing power from private companies for higher price when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was willing to supply 1000 MW power to Telangana at Rs 6 per unit. The TDP leader said that the government was purchasing power from private companies in order to get commissions from them and imposing burden on people by hiking power tariff. The TDP MLA came down heavily on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for providing benefits only to his family members while openly saying that he was implementing agenda of Maoists.

He said that time has come for TJAC Chairman Kodandaram, balladeer Gaddar and Telangana United Front leader Vimalakka to question the shabby rule of Chandrashekar Rao. Revanth Reddy made a request to the TRS government not to take up construction of new irrigation projects when existing projects were under construction to store 811 tmc of water as per Bachawat Award. He said that the TRS leaders would face social boycott if they create rift between people of north and south Telangana regions by taking up construction of Jurala-Pakala project.

Another MLA Rajender Reddy said that Chandrashekar Rao’s rule is reminiscent of Razakar’s under the administration of erstwhile Nizam regime. He pointed out that their party would not object if the government constructs new irrigation projects in Mahabubnagar and Ranga Reddy districts. However, Reddy insisted the government to take up construction of projects only after giving clarity on rehabilitation and resettlement to people, who would be displaced. He warned the TRS government that the TDP would oppose projects if clear terms were not laid for rehabilitation and resettlement of displaced.
