Imposter held for duping grieving father
A man who cheated gullible persons by posing as a personal assistant to an Additional Secretary to CM’s Peshi was arrested by the Central Crime Station (CCS) Police on Wednesday. The White Collar Offence (WCO) Team-II, CCS (Detective Department), Hyderabad nabbed Bangaru Suresh Kumar, 36, a native of Karimnagar, near Lumbini Park on Tuesday around 3 pm and verified his complicity in this case.
Hyderabad: A man who cheated gullible persons by posing as a personal assistant to an Additional Secretary to CM’s Peshi was arrested by the Central Crime Station (CCS) Police on Wednesday. The White Collar Offence (WCO) Team-II, CCS (Detective Department), Hyderabad nabbed Bangaru Suresh Kumar, 36, a native of Karimnagar, near Lumbini Park on Tuesday around 3 pm and verified his complicity in this case.
The CCS police received a complaint on March 20 from one Anjaiah, 63, of Malkajgiri, that his son committed suicide on September 10 of last year. In this connection, Suresh posing as personal assistant of Additional Secretary to CM’s peshi, called Anjaiah and asked him to deposit Rs 10,000 to claim the compensation amount to which the latter deposited in one J Ramesh’s bank account.
But when Anjaiah tried to enquire about the status of proceedings, Suresh abused him. A similar complaint was received by the CCS on March 23 from one Ch Devadasu, 54, of Karimnagar stating that Suresh collected Rs 10,000 with a promise to sanction a loan of Rs 2 lakh under the SC/ST finance scheme.
Similarly, through, one Madhava Rao Kailasam of Warangal, Suresh asked a job aspirant, Raj Kumar, to deposit Rs 60,000 in the Civil Services Department. “In both the cases, the imposter is identified as Suresh Kumar and there is no such person working in CM’s Peshi,” Additional CP (Crime & SIT) Swati Lakra said, adding that CCS was investigating the crime and involvement of Ramesh and Madhava. Suresh has been produced before the court.
