Inaugurating the Spices Park in Guntur along with Union minister for commerce and trade, Nirmala Sitaraman on Monday, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that to promote agriculture-based industries, the government would start food parks in all districts.


Announcing that food parks will be inaugurated in all 13 districts to utilize the locally available agricultural products, the Chief Minister said that industrial development was important to make agriculture a profitable occupation.


Naidu speaking about the Spices Park said that Guntur is synonymous with chilli since AP accounts for 60 percent chillies produced in the country of which 50 percent comes from Guntur. Hence the Spices Park would create employment through processing, exporting and grading of chilli and other spices.
